Molding

Interior mouldings (also spelled moldings) are used either to cover up gaps or for decorative reasons – or both.  We stock a good selection of current mouldings of several basic types:

  • Unfinished (raw) pine – the most common type used locally in the past, ponderosa pine is very easy to cut, nail and finish.  This product can be either stained or painted.  We stock patterns used for base, casing, stops, corners, crown and other uses.
  • MDF – is currently the most popular.  It is available in many sizes and profiles at a very good price point.  The items we stock are low emission products and are pre-primed (white) with a good and durable coating, making painting your trim a breeze.  In addition, the price of MDF is substantially lower than unfinished pine.  Most of the patterns that we stock are used for casing, base or crown.
  • Hardwood – we also have a small selection of oak, primarily casing and base patterns. We can quickly special order many other species and shapes.

There are literally hundreds of patterns and sizes of mouldings and we have easy access to several suppliers who can quickly fill our special orders for moldings.  Most any standard pattern is available in pine and hemlock, and literally dozens of hardwood and MDF patterns are easily available.  Occasionally we run into patterns that were produced locally in a custom size that is not economically feasible to duplicate in small quantities, but this is by far the exception rather than the rule.  Combinations of different mouldings  can be used to  achieve most any look you desire.

As with most all products we sell, be sure to ask about our FORCAP pricing plan.  It stands for FORBUSCO CUSTOMER APPRECIATION PLAN and it gives you immediate discounts which can be substantial.  It is meant to thank you for being one of our customers during our 70 plus years of serving Eureka, Fortuna, Ferndale and all Humboldt county areas.
